Trapped

I've been reading lately and the majority of books I read just show me how trapped I am. When I read, I feel like I can escape from my reality for a moment and just become the person that I wish I was but I realize I am trapped.

I'll give you an example. I read a chapter from 'searching for god knows what' about equality and the system of comparison that we have set up. How after the Fall, we lost all sense of secure identity and now everything in our world is built on the idea of comparison. You can understand this by just entering a high school. The clothes, cars, physical build and beauty. I was a part of that (or tried to be) and now many of my friends talk about jobs and careers and money. How did we get here and how do we get out?

See I just want to look at everyone I see as I walk down the street and say each and every one of these people are humans like me. We are the same. But somehow, we aren't, are we?

And here is where I am trapped between who I am (and want to remain) and who I need to be.
