Sometimes it rains and sometimes, though rarely, we forget to bring our umbrellas. What can we do? not much, tough out the storm and hope that the sun will come out soon. I am in Scarfe right now looking out at the rain that is coming down and the wind blowing and for once I have forsaken my trusty Ikea umbrella in the trunk of my car. I said to myself this morning that it looks like a sunny day and probably won't rain. How wrong I was...but what can I do now? should I take the bus back to my car and get it? or should I make due with what I have?
It just hit me that school is like that. I am in Scarfe because I am trying to do an assignment that is overdue and way too hard for me to understand but what can I do but to give it my focus and just do it. It's too late to go back to 1st year and start over and I have 3 more projects due next week. I only have one more year to pull this together and I really don't think I can do it. All I can do is ride out the storm knowing that you care for me and have given me what I need to last the night. I prayed "give us this day our daily bread" so I'm sure I'll make it through some how.
And the Lord is good like that. Sometimes it rains and we need it. Need to know that we cannot make it on our own. That there is a gap between our abilities and the tasks that lay before us. And that his grace is sufficent for us and in our weakness, his power is made perfect.
Sometimes it rains and I thank the Lord for Northface.
let me enjoy my bread today and be satisfied.

May you, when you're soaking wet, lost ,hurting, and confused, may you cry out and may the creator of the universe take you out of your pack, may he hold you tight up against his chest, may he wrap his eternal loving arms around you, and may you hear him whisper...
I love you buddy
we're going to make it.
Dad knows the way home.
We're gonna make it.
