Grades don't matter to God?!

Is it true? is it false? or is it one of those part truths that we discover on the way?

I'm sure my brothers/sisters will check me on this because I could be horribly wrong and I feel as if I am walking on a tight rope, ready to fall to either side. But let's be honest, do grades matter to God? That was the question that came up in my mind as I cried out to God to be saved not from sins but from my school grades which were a disaster.

Then this is what hit me. I need to be saved from my sins more than I need to be saved from school. If I failed school and was kicked out of University (God Forbid) wouldn't it be alright in the eternal scheme of things? Maybe there would be some detours I would need to take to get back on track but let's face it, my soul is more important than grades isn't it?

So that's my thought of the day. It still shocks me to know that maybe, just maybe, God cares more about saving me from my sins than he does about saving me from the Acquisition of Phonology. I guess I've just forgotten that and made school such a big deal when, let's face it, it's not. It's like the girl you had a crush on in highschool. She consumed your thoughts and was there in every waking moment of your life and now she's gone...just a fond memory of the torture your heart put you through.

maybe school is like that too...a fond memory that tortured you but will torture you no more in the future as you look back. It's not as big as a deal as us Chinese folk make it out to be.

maybe...

hi there, if you were born nearly a quarter of a century ago in a far away land, have a brother named david (tat jin?), a mother nelly and a father hoito, then i might be a long lost friend of yours and would love to get back in touch. otherwise, the best of luck for you to find your way wherever it may lead you. and don't forget: you never walk alone. may all your wishes come true.
