Now I know why I have to stay in school and finish this off. My hygenist asked me what I would do with my linguistics degree when I graduated. I said nothing and she said that she wouldn't be able to go through school knowing that her degree would go to waste. I said nothing in my defense as my mouth was full of floss.
But now I know why. Why I will have this linguistics degree that will be almost useless to me. I know maybe a little bit of why theological seminaries are graduate schools and not undergraduate programs. It's because of escape. Let me explain what I mean... This concept of escape came to me when I remembered what a Regent professor asked one of his students. He mentioned that alot of students aren't called to do ministry but still end up going. They are just hiding out there. They can't face this world. I have alot of escapes in retrospective. Firstly would be my automotive "interest", it would be better to put obsession but let's not. My mind would think about cars rather than face the reality of linguistics. Another is....church and my duties concerning Christianity. I'd rather get those things done, not neccessarily because I want to but because I don't really know how to start school work and studying.
So here I am again, blogging because I don't know which to study for, Ling or Relg because frankly, they both need about another 6 hours each and the exams are tomorrow morning. At least I know in part why I must finish this wretched part of my life. This seemingly meaningless four years... So I may know when I'm in seminary (if I get there) that I'm not there to hide from this world but to be equipped to come out and work in it and to minister to it.
Well God be with you in your studies. I pray he will be with me. Psalm 89
