Hosanna

I learned what Hosanna meant yesterday. I was watching V's link to the new hillsongs song "Hosanna" and so I googled looking for chords and a link came up for the meaning. Hosanna means something along the lines of "Please Save" and the people speculated that the part "in the highest" is just a title referring to God. So you basically get "Please Save Us God On High".

Now this is interesting because it's the last two weeks of school and I feel like I want to give up on this term like a disabled child left to die in the cold. But what's new? I give up at the end every term. The chinese have a saying that goes something like this "Tiger Head with a Serpent's Tail". It means you start off strong but slither away at the end. And so Hosanna Hosanna will be my prayer this week. Save me Jesus Save me. Not from school and work but from my laziness. From my stubborness and defeat. From my pride and contempt towards this stage in my life.

The song Hosanna that we often sing in church always makes it sound like it's a name for Jesus but it's not. I was imagining that scene as Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on the donkey with people around him crying out for him to save them.

May I cast all my anxieties on him because he cares for me. And may I know that he keeps in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast.
