Humiliation and Repentance

It's been a week since i've heard these words and i'm still pondering on them. I relate to TW really well and the things he seems to say seem to always relate to what i've been thinking about. So why Humiliation and Repentance and how do the two even relate?

well humiliation is one thing i know i try to avoid. I think of humiliation as the step beyond embarrassment. It's almost like you are embarrassed and then everyone knows about it. I guess an example of being embarrassed would be like the whole school finding out about the girl you like and then the girl finding out. But being humiliated might be like her completely rejecting you infront of everyone. I have never had something so humiliating happen to me so i guess i'm pretty oblivious to humiliation but i played the fool last week and asked to be shown and taught what it meant to be humiliated, in my life or in the life of others. That night J mentioned that the songs I had picked and sung were way to high and even for myself. She said i strummed louder when i had to hit that note. It's embarrassing to write about this and remember that moment.

Repentance. That word has new meaning for me now. It's not so much saying sorry for things you've done wrong. It's more like being sorry for who you are, but at the same time you accept it and worship. I think Vince said this but i'm still learning it. To worship in truth is not only the truth that the songs hold but the truth of who we are.

So i am learning to repent because so often I say sorry for things i do but i am still the same. I wish i could change but i just can't and it's depressing, frustrating and often suffocating.

So this week's song set is as follows
1. Here I am to Worship
2. Lost in Wonder
3. WIth all I am
4. Hosanna

My theme is that of Repentance and Humiliation.

May I accept humiliation in my life and the lives of others and love them. May I let others repent and may I repent to accept who I am, who I truly am, and pray for salvation.

I guess this theme really rings with me too because I've been struggling alot with salvation and the four spiritual laws. I don't understand salvation. that's my confession. but i'm seeing more and more of part of it in humiliation and repentance
