My mom once said to me that men are hunters. Men live for the thrill of the hunt and the chase but when they get married, they become the farmer. Men are to cultivate, nurture and grow the women they love. It's beautifully poetic. The way men and women were meant to live together is just so beautiful. Even looking at the biblical model we see women called to submit to their husbands but at the same time, husbands are to be what Christ is to the church, self sacrificial. So which way is it? Is the woman to submit to her man or is the man to die for their wife and give up everything he is for her?
It's both isn't it?
And I find this to be quite a universal truth. Whenever we come to these cross roads, it's often not one choice over another but both. In the way this whole world functions, I find it's like a paradox. Is God one god or three? He's both. Was Jesus God or Man? He's both.
So back to relationships. I guess the thing is that I've always feared that model of the hunter and the farmer. I haven't hunted much but I would like to give it a try. I'm sure as heck not much of a farmer or a martyr. But I think I am to be both. Both the hunter and the farmer, both Lord yet self sacrificial.
It's bizarre because I think I was brainwashed into thinking that there is only one answer or one way. Things cannot be this and that but we find in reality that this always leads to that.
I guess with that in mind, I will never 'understand' anything because instead of knowledge as a set of stones stacked upon one another built up to reach a goal, knowledge is like water or something flexible. Elusive and every time you look again, you see something different and then you wonder to yourself, what happened to that thing I saw before? did I even see anything?
It's crazy and I guess some people call it beating around the bush or avoiding the subject but the more I think about it, the more and more I think this is the only way to be. To know everything and yet nothing.

Greetings Daniel
Truly, your mom as given a beautiful quotation concerning husbands and wives.
Outstanding.
However, in answer to your questions whether
"Is God one god or three? ... Was Jesus God or Man?"
Scripturally,
GOD is most definitely ONE!
Remember, the greatest commandment, the Shema, Deut 6.4!
(Mark 12:29) And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Note the scribe's response:
(Mark 12:32) And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
It should be obvious then, that neither Jesus nor the scribe believed that God is three?!?
No, GOD is ONE!
There is solely ONE GOD, the Father.
[1 Cor 8.4,6]
Jesus the Messiah, the ONE GOD's human Son described Him as
the only true GOD.
[John 17.3]
Therefore, scripturally, in answer to your second question,
Jesus is man!
[Acts 2.22]
(1 Tim 2:5) For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
He is therefore the Son of
the ONE GOD, the Father.
[2 John 3]
