It just ain't what it use to be eh?
Since I said I would be honest on my blog, I guess I can come out and say it; Worship is dead to me. For the most part, it's become a chore that I do alone (self inflicted in all likelihood). Practices feel like, well, practices for any musical event except no one is enthusiastic. It's worse than someone's funeral and I feel it too. The songs feel like a worn garment that is long past its date. So the question comes...
Where are you? Why is it this way? Couldn't it be the way it use to be? Couldn't it be the way it was meant to be?
Vince wrote, "Worship should be so much more than what we've experienced" and it's so true isn't it. Worship is so much bigger than music. It's encountering the living God. Everything we did is encountering the living God but it never feels like that does it? It always feels mediocre...lukewarm. Where is that excitement and rawness that comes from singing about you? I've died a little. Won't you please bring me back?
