Now I don't mean to say that the team sucks or anything. What I want to say is this:
Why can't I be worshipping?

Rambled bits of thoughts, attempted honestly and confessions from a postmodern/newage cynic

Thank you for being open and vulnerable with something that is so dear and important.
I think this is something new that has begun in your life, and your journey with God. Vince has spoken right, worship as being so much bigger than music, it is an encounter with the living God, but it is also a time of response and reflection.
We read poets of the Psalms, and how many of them are reflecting on the events of their life? What are the prophets words to the people? Remember Egypt, remember Egypt, and remember Egypt.
Perhaps the best question to ask ourselves, if we continue with the Egypt metaphor is, where is our own personal Egypts that God has saved us from?
I think God understands we humans are flawed and forgetful, that's why he keeps on telling the people to remember a certain event during a certain holiday (passover, Purim etc).
On top of that, God has made it possible not to just reflect on his actions on those special days. Because the grace and peace of God surrounds each and every single day, we must stop every 7 days to reflect, remember and restore. When was the last time you've slowed down. Gone on a walk by yourself and just thought about the week?
Would that spur you to worship, I don't know...but I hope that's a start.
