Yesterday I did something I rarely do and do not usually want to do. I went on the Walk to Cure Breast Cancer with my family. I think it was a spur of the moment thing when my dad asked me if I wanted to go. I think I best not explain why I didn't want to go now but I noticed something there.
Breast cancer brings people together.
It was so similar to the way Christ binds us together. Women and men who would otherwise not have known each other were there cheering each other on to 'finish the race' as it was. A strange friendship is the only way I can describe it. Amidst my overly realistic world view and fascination with death, there is love and hope to face the inevitable.
