Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.
This verse has meant something new to me in these last few days. I have been confused and scared of what the future holds. I got an offer for more work in the summer and I put the sticky note beside this verse. This verse use to mean following God to me but recently it has taken on more of an idea of remembering the goodness of the Lord. Trusting that he holds the future and that it is good.
I confess that I have a silly idea that God likes to play tricks on us or thwart our plans. I always think that he will mess everything up that I plan to take it out of 'worldly' time frames and put it into 'spiritual' time frames. However, this week I've begun to see that he is for us and not against us. That the word Trust implies a relaxation on my part. Knowing that things are taken care of and are being taken care of.
